November Wrap-up

Currently sitting in class so  this will be short. Xp. Don't kill me for that I have no time really. School is getting the best of me. I'm lucky that I have time to read, which isn't going as fast as i would love to.

Here we go though!

During this month I have managed to read 3 books. Woaw...new record -_-

The two books I have managed to read were the books sent in by the author. The young adult novels from miss Risseghem.

THE GUARDIAN, A SWORD AND STILETTOS by Kristin D. Van Risseghem

Format: Ebook (.mobi) | 282 pages
Size: 1281 KB
Publication date: 10 May 2015
Sold by: Amazon, co.

Goodreads  |  Amazon

"Speechless. One word describing it all! The characters, the plot ...the everything!

Easy to read with not so complicated sentences. Oh! I have to say that the first few chapters got my attention completely. Couldn't put it down...The world that was created and explained was flawless. Now when I come to think of it...was there anything I didn't like? Maybe the suspended ending!!!! But I know it had to be done to keep the readers hyped up. Definitely want to read the rest of the books!"

If you want to read full review click HERE. But let me tell you it is a hell of a good book! 5 out of 5 stars!

After that here comes the sequel to this baby:

THE MASQUERADE, AN ALTAR, AND A FAIRY

Format: Ebook (.mobi) | 142 pages
Size: 5 196 KB
Publication date: 19 August 2015
Publisher: Kasian publishing

Goodreads  |  Amazon

"I think that the book itself could be read without even reading the main book, because all of the details and even the additional info is mentioned in this small novella. The star rating says everything that needs to be done about this series. Not to mention I've noticed another book had come out recently! I think it's about the Winter fairy this time, and I took liking in that cheeky male, bring it on!" Mimi 2015

This book didn't disappoint me with the expectations I had from the first book. Yet again 5 out of 5 stars! Read the full review HERE.

The third book I've read this month is Around the world in 80 days by Jules Verne. The review on it will be soon up, I'm having just last few pages to go. It is going too slow and I can tell that  it won't be having more than 3 stars from me!
Come back and check the review it should be up on Sunday and that's the deadline I had set up for myself

*pitifully logs off and runs for lunch*

The guardian, a sword and stilettos ~ review

Format: Ebook (.mobi) | 282 pages
Size: 1281 KB
Publication date: 10 May 2015
Sold by: Amazon, co.

Goodreads  |  Amazon

Zoe Jabril could be just another 17-year-old girl attending parties with her friends and checking out cute guys—except her best friend is a Guardian Angel, and the boy she crushes on is a Nephilim, half-angel, both sent to Earth to protect her. A high school classmate happens to be a trendsetting shopaholic fairy. And now there’s a new werewolf in town.

Zoe has to deal with her feelings toward Shay, who spreads a strange electrical current through her body every time he touches her. Now Zoe is under constant attack from demons, trying to kill and stop her from fulfilling the Prophecy: a girl will be born who will unite the Enlightens to battle evil. Then on top of that, between boring homework and drama with girls at school, she has to control new found talents if she’s to prevent the devil from escaping Hell.

In order to do so, Zoe must devise a kick-ass plan ASAP or watch everyone die, because she’s running out of time. She turns eighteen in two months—the date Armageddon kicks off.

I should start saying that this was sent to me as a kind of ARC. From author yet again and from start as I saw the synopsis I knew I would love it. Because honestly, angels and demons? That's my thing, even all the supernatural!!!
It was yet again a book with first person POV, but hell, I think I'm starting to like these kind of books. I didn't mind it at all and it didn't even feel weird for me. I fell in love with it instantly. The story is fluid, continuous. Easy to read with not so complicated sentences. Oh! I have to say that the first few chapters got my attention completely. Couldn't put it down...(resulted in almost my Kindle being taken by my Maths teacher...BUT TOTALLY WORTH IT!)

The characters are cute and the way Zoe and Shay fell in love, step by step. Gorgeous! Need more fluff in this world! The development of the main character - Zoe- was clear, getting to accept the ordeal she was born into. I fell in love with Shay as well. I have no idea if the authors purpose was to fall in love with the book or any other characters, but it definitely worked on me! I even felt pity for the poor Kieran.
The world that was created and explained was flawless. Now when I come to think of it...was there anything I didn't like? Oh..yes. HOW DID IT END WITH SHAY  AND ZOE???!! I have to know! I just have to, my life isn't full if I don't know.

October WrapUp & November BOokhaul

A month has passed and sadly I haven't read much! (damn it school, just damn it) Or maybe I shouldn't blame school for that...Yeah I shouldn't if I wanted I could surely quit reading fanfictions and get to my books OR stop playing the goddamn PC games (no they are not, pc games are amazing <3). aaaand yeah also have a roleplay blog on tumblr, taking most of my times.

Alright  let me stop complaining and making up excuses for not reading, solemnly my fault I get it. But hei! It's hard time for me! And reading slumps are not helping it much either!

First of the Wrap-up for the month of October.

The only book I've managed to get through is Brooding city, by Tom Shutt. And I've already rated it two out of five stars, because well:

"Didn't leave a good feeling at the end, I was confused, having trouble to understand what was happening. It looks like there are two stories in one book. I also had lots of questions toward the background story which went on behind it. Would recommend to focus just on one character development." Mimi, 2015

Quoted from  review on Goodreads. (if you really want to read my full review it's HERE).

Anyway, do fanfictions count as reading? Because hell I've read tons and tons of them, mostly with Mycroft, Sherly ummm Crowley and whole supernatural people. *blushes*

Moving onto the Bookhaul of November!!

Most of my books from October moved in here, I'm currently third way through Fangirl and I'm kind of liking it. Can't say I'm in love with the book because I'm tasting new waters here. This is a kind of books I've scarcely read before and still trying to process down of what is happening.

Then there is halfway done Verne's Around the world in eighty days which is basically a compulsory read and it goes on slowwwly. It's only that I don't like many descriptions huddled up together and this is what this book is about. Mostly descriptions and lack of dialogues. But it can do, I found love in classics lately and will be reading more of them soon.

And lastly the books I have received from author! Which came with the amazing note of being accepted as permanent reviewer so I'm utterly happy and already quarter through the first book, because hell it's amazing. Angels and demons? Finally my kind of thing out of these books. *grins widely*

I hope that this month will be far more productive than the last one. My two babies (Crown of Midnight and Heir of fire) are patiently waiting till I can get to them. Yet a thought ran through my mind to buy the rest of the books in the series and have a quick marathon through out one weekend or the best would be through the Winter holidays! Oh yes..I need that right now....gotta go  back to procrastinating..yeah, now where was I in Assassin's creed? hmmm....oh yes killing a templar agent.
